Hello, I’m Arneej, playing for Sector One. I decided to make a short guide about N'Zoth, the Corruptor Warrior because I went 30-6 and pushed to top 10 legend with it.
The introduction of Barnes made N'Zoth, the Corruptor decks a lot stronger, since getting a deathrattle off Barnes’ battlecry is incredibly strong.
Warrior is in a good spot at the moment, since there are many different archetypes in this meta which make it hard for your opponent to predict which version you’re playing.
This forces your opponent in an awkward mulligan choice, because they might want to keep removal in case you’re an aggressive Warrior deck. (e.g. Dragon Warrior).
If your opponent kept removal, it will be useless for most of the early game, while proactive cards like minions would have been a way better keep against N'Zoth, the Corruptor Warrior.

- Barnes can make your N’zoth, the Corruptor stronger.
- Elise Starseeker gives you an opportunity (against control) to turn your anti-aggro cards into legendaries.
- Chillmaw is an okay taunt which will also be re summoned by N’zoth, the Corruptor, it’s good because our 7-mana slot is also empty and it could cause inefficient trades by your opponent when they think that the deathrattle might go off.
- Ragnaros the Firelord makes Barnes better, pressures your opponent and/or is good single target removal.
Take out Elise Starseeker for Loot Hoarder or Doomsayer.
Take out anti-aggro cards like Revenge, Shield Block for more greedy cards like Gorehowl, Grommash Hellscream or any decent high drop minion.
Your primary win condition is N'Zoth, the Corruptor, so the strategy is to keep your opponent’s board under control. Like with every Control Warrior:
- Fiery War Axe
- Ravaging Ghoul
are all solid cards that will help you achieve to this. Also, deathrattle minions help drag the game out, since they are hard to remove.
Barnes gives the possibility of a turn 4 board swing, if you get a good deathrattle the board will most likely be in your favor, and it feeds N'Zoth, the Corruptor as well.
Against fast decks, your goal will be to remove their pressure as efficient as possible, while making sure you’re out of range of possible burst combinations.This will give you card advantage and will ultimately allow you to overthrow the board.
- Fiery War Axe is the most important card in (almost) all matchups.
Against decks that rely on early board presence, you should also keep Slam and Ravaging Ghoul. Ravaging Ghoul is a really good keep if you already have Fiery War Axe, since it allows you to kill a 3 health minion on turn 2, and a 4 health minion on turn 3.
Against really slow or combo decks (like Control Warrior, Freeze Mage, OTK Warrior), keep Justicar Trueheart. You want to gain as much health as possible to get out of reach, and playing Justicar Trueheart as early as possible helps you to do so.
C'Thun vs N'Zoth
The strategy is basically the same thing, both are trying to stall until they can summon their respective Old God. C'Thun is able to clear the enemy board, while developing a huge body which is basically unclearable for aggro decks like zoo and aggro shaman, however you will find yourself in a difficult situation when playing in a control mirror. Your opponent can steal your C'Thun, with Sylvanas Windrunner and Shield Slam for example, and your Doomcaller won’t be able to give you the C'Thun(s) you need to win the game. A huge advantage for C’Thun warrior is Twin Emperor Vek’lor, this card is just pure value.
The big disadvantage is that the whole deck relies on getting your C'Thun to 10/10, if that doesn’t happen, good cards become bad. The N’zoth variant does not have this problem however. You can stall for a long while with all the tools Warrior has nowadays and create an insanely valuable N'Zoth, the Corruptor later on. Which will be basically impossible to clear in one go. Barnes is also a huge advantage for N'Zoth, the Corruptor, since it can pull a deathrattle minion and give you a huge advantage early in the game.
And do not forget, if you are able to stabilize at 10 mana and play a minion against an aggressive deck, you have already won. Delaying for the AOE’s is the most important thing to do against aggro. Cards like Infested Tauren help you with achieving this goal.
- Use your Sylvanas Windrunner to steal C'Thun in the C’thun Warrior matchup
- You can also use Sylvanas Windrunner to set up a Brawl for the next turn
- Play Barnes as early in the game as possible, so the chance of getting a deathrattle is higher
- Sometimes it’s worth being patient and letting your opponent bring you low to activate Revenge for a board clear
